Child Labour

A 12 year old boy has two options ,  either to work as a child labour and to earn his food , Or to die of Hunger . Since child labour in India is banned , its hard to find a job where he can work(people are now a little afraid of employing children below 14 due to the law). The question is when he'll be working under someone . Is the employer committing a crime by employing a child ? or he is giving him a life ? and i know giving a life is not a crime for sure.
Should there be child labour in India or not where 80 crore people live under the earnings of less than rs 20 per day.

  3. I second you for this, but all efforts should be made for imparting education to the bottom of the pyramid, because the root cause for every flaw is lack of education!
when you educate a person, you let sustain his family!

  5. @4db74bd47cfbe152e202a89f145080c3  education is surely not the solution , you can not educate all and remove poverty , it will only increase it ... and first of all, define EDUCATION..... (soch ka daarya bada mere dost , schooling the world namak video dekh phele :P)

  6. Buddy, it is! soch ka daerya bada hai tabhi saying, its a long process, education with its multiple effects(all for poor), creates awareness, reduces corruption, also generates self employment, hence creating sustainable living, therby reducing population growth blah blah and also gives ppl rights to think and act hence, smwhr reducing all such bad deeds  including CL!
(ladke, fortune at the bottom of pyramid naamak book padle pehle :p) :D

  7. govt. is giving them education and mid day meal also, so that these children don't labor because of food. but what about their 3rd meal of the day...?? they have to go for it..and being more realistic primary school teachers are not interested in teaching and making  these children to have dreams. these children are not well directed. due to corruption in education system. and result is that everything comes to a halt .:(

  8. @4db74bd47cfbe152e202a89f145080c3 education doesn't teach us to be productive , we need people of India to be productive ... and productive in crude terms...

  9. hey .. this was the exact thought that crossed my mind wjile traveling by auto-rikshaw and seeing the little kids with infants .. begging ... Sadly, the gorvernment has made laws for ban on child labour ... ut it hould have been vice-versa.. a ban on beggars should have been there , so that these kids instead of roaming in burning summers and chilling winters could get some little work and fill their stomach and get to learn of how a living is earned and be self-sufficient..

  10. tushar: take it on a macro level and it certainly does!when a person like u needs an IIT degree and a few years job experience to make up something, what about those poor! its a long term process, education increases production! dont take it on short term.
@neha: hw well a person can sustain his living  for lifetime when hez engaged in work(as u said) since childhood as compared to when he gets a good education and then work!10 years down d lane, education is a better option for his family and coming generations! he ll always remain SC/ST and will never improve else wise! so the flaw is a fuc**d up education system!

  11. haushang in support to you, offcourse EDUCATION is one of the important thing but not THE ONLY ONE ! the problem is just not about the CHILD ! its about almost all the BPL people who are under the grasp of poverty and unemployment ! now focusing on the child labour issue, here comes the duty of the GOVERNMENT to make the prevailing systems(which are already going on for the enhancement of the children below 14 like education etc) MORE EFFECTIVE  and EFFICIENT ! and in RAJASHTHAN as far as i know, the govt is providing mid day meal to kids and its been really working ! Morover their parents are under various employement schemes of the government. In simpler terms

    PADHAI-KNOWLEDGE-CAPABLE-JOB-MONEY-SUSTAINABLE-HAPPY! :_

so everything starts with the EDUCATION and we can easily curb child labour !

let's teach them and tushaar why don't you take initiative to teach them or whosover comes to you, take him/her(the child) and get them admitted in school! if we start doing it,we will surely make this country bright ! :D
